Repeated failure of Blackberry Curve 9300

My sons Blackberry 9300 has failed and been repaired so many times that MTN has replaced the 9300 with new 9300 units three times.

On the VERY FIRST attempt at switching on the latest replacement 9300, it froze on start up and MTN says the only option is to send it in for repairs - again.

Surely there comes a time after the customer has has been inconvenienced so much that the normal policy, of repairing and replacing the same model of phone, be wavered and have MTN replace the phone with a different model as per my request? I am quite prepared to pay in any difference in cost.

I have been told that my request is impossible.
