Getting nowhere

I am trying to change my bank details before my debit order goes off, after phoning them I go to the correct department and wait for someone to answer. After waiting for a 5 min the phone starts ringing for an operator and then it goes dead. No one on the other side, so I thought I got cut off and I phone again. Same thing again after phoning back so I went to the website and completed the online form and explained what I wanted to do and send it off.

Today someone phones me from head office, given him my details and he said he wouldn't be able to assist he will transfer me again. After the transfer exactly the same happened again like yesterday. I even then tried again to phone back and the same happened.

And now I ask you how difficult can it be just to update your bank details, after all I am trying to do the right thing.
Also why phone me if you are not able to assist me and going to transfer my call in any way to someone else. Why wasn't it send to the correct department in the first place to phone me back and get the new details.
I guess they don't want to get paid by the end of the month and beware if the cut me off.
