I requested Telkom to move my telephone line and ADSL line to my new address on 01/07/2013. I was told on the phone that it was done. My phone was working for 4 days after which the line was dead. I went to the telkom walk in centre on 07/07/2013, they had me call teh call centre. I explained the situation to the agent and was told that since I am in a new area, they cannot transfer the line and that they have to send a technician to install, they aranged to send someone on 11/07/2013, this never happened. I have since been phoned several times by Telkom to confirm my adress, I received an SMS that I must pay R700.00 to install a new line which turns out was incorrect since it is a transfer and not a new service, they also demanded that I pay the amount of R193.15 before they will send someone out (which as per my statement is only due on 26/07/2013) which I did. Telkom now tells me that I have to wait another 21 days for my service to be active, they also promised me that a Supervisor will phone me back on Yesterday which never happened. This is what happens when you deal with a company where there is zero acountability. I lodged a complaint on the Telkom website, no reply.
