Was my phone replaced as promised???

I finally got an iphone 4s in August 2012. In October 2012 i noticed that the battery would die 100% within 5 hours of no use and the phone would heat up to the point that i would have to remove it from my pocket. I took my phone to Vodaworld where it was repaired in Novemeber 2012. In Decemebr the exact same problem came back. Being away I only managed to take the phone back in January 2013, this time I insisted on a new phone. I followed up a week later to be told that i would be getting a brand new phone and went the next day to collect. The NEW phone was given to me in a zip lock bag, it was explained to me that this is how NEW replacement phones are given.By the end of February the exact same problem has come back. Coinsidence, or was my phone possibly not replaced?? Either way should I have to drive all the way out to Vodaworld again and be without a phone for another 2 weeks while trying to run my business? We all pay a fortune to have these devices and yet when there is a problem we have to run around and be inconvenienced. The first loan phone that was given to me could not even receive calls. Will someone from Vodacom care enough to make this problem right???
