Upgrade Prices kept changing

I went in to the shop to do an upgrade and had all the necessary documentation. First time I went they were off line so I went back the next morning only to discover they were offline again. I discussed everything I needed to with the assistant and I was told that the papers were will be ready as soon as they are back online. They also told me that I'll be able to upgrade to the phone I wanted without paying in since my average cellphone account is over R800 per month. I was happy and returned later to complete the procedure. Suddenly I was told that the type of contract does not exist anymore and I'll have to change the contract but I will still be able to upgrade without a problem. They recommended a package to me and I was happy until the manager came and said that I'll have to pay in over R4000 on the phone!!! What I don't understand is that my friend right next to me upgraded to EXACTLY the same contract on the day the phone was launched and no pay in was necessary. The response was "deals change"!!! How can a deal change from no pay in to R4000 pay in. They are ripping people off! My family's had 9 contracts with vodacom and been loyal customers for 10 years!!!
