Vodacom
Mis-representation of service

I had a vodacom contract for about 12 years and then converted the contract to pre-paid in 2010 in order to keep my number since I was provided with a company phone. I signed a new contract (talk 500) with Vodacom last week Thursday on the basis that I would be able to re-instate my number, I was told that it could be done through a sim swop. I have now been told that my number has been recycled since I did not use it and I cannot get it back. At no point when I converted the number to pre-paid did they tell me I had to use the number regularly for it to remain activated.
I have been pushed from pillar to post as no-body is willing to assist. I have been told that I cannot speak to a supervisor and if I wish to complain, the only way is to send an e-mail.
Vodacom did not disclose all the information available to them which resulted in me signing a contract. My "old" number has not been "fully recycled" as when you phone it, the message is that the number does not exist. It appears that vodacom is not willing to assist with this matter in anyway. I am sure it must be possible for them to "get the number" back and need a response from vodacon on their mis-representation.
