Settling your account is not good enough

Settled my Virgin contracts early last year (Took me over 2 hours on their call centre because no-one knows how...) Made payment into their account and requested Clearance letters, once again - receive NOTHING.

So I apply for credit over a year later and the full amount is now shown as written off and they have another one showing arrears on Experian.

I requested them to sort this out though their mail service on their website and received a mail stating that my message had been sent to the accounts department, my heading was ATT: LEGAL DEPARTMENT.

Come on, I have squared off with Virgin, they received more moeny than they deserved and all I want is my clearance letter that is due to me after having settled my accounts.
