Vodacom billed us for R6000 data which we could not pay. They did not supply proof of the data bill and the phone was turned off. We have subsequently paid the data bill but have not paid the balance of contract as the phone was turned off. We lost buisness due to having to change numbers as my husband is a freelancer and relies on people knowing his number. Vodacom has now listed my husband and we are unable to get credit. This has further disrupted our potential to do work as we needed credit to buy more gear. I have a four year old and have potentially lost over R100 000 of buisness due to the listing and face potentially having to have my car and house repossesed due to the listing. It is unacceptable that a cell phone company can ruin the lives of three people one of them a minor, and unacceptable to expect balance of contract when the phone was never turned back on.
