Vodacom
Listed as default payer and unable to have removed

I went overseas on holiday with my family and had my phone on me. Within two days of being in the USA I received a sms to say my usage is higher than normal and I owed Vodacom R 12000. I immediately switched off my phone and contacted Vodacom. I was away for 10 days and on arrival in SA I again contacted the company to query the billing.by this time and with my phone being off for the overseas trip, I was now indebted to Vodacom for R 25000 (approx.).

I called and disputed the billing. I got no joy from Vodacom who insisted I used their services to the value claimed. I asked for the contract balance owning on my contract and was given an amount of app. R 4500 by their call centre. I immediately paid the full contract value so that I would not be held liable for breach of contract. I have personally and via my attorney lodged a dispute with Vodacom for the balance outstanding on my statement being for data charges. They have refused to issue summons as requested by me so that I can have the dispute resolved by the courts. They refuse to remove my default listing from the credit bureau and as a result I have been unable to acquire loans, personal and business.
