How is this my fault

According to the staff at the MTN in Promonade (Mitchelle's Plain), my account cannot be made active unless I pay an outstanding amount of R99 on my account... not only has my account been suspended, but i am without service in all sense of the term where my cell phone is concerned.

On 18 Feb 2013, I realized that I was not able to make any calls but I was able to receive call... I call the MTN customer care and they explained to me that I have a R99 outstanding on my account... which I didnt know about... I pay my accounts on the day I can get so I make an EFT payments. I phone MTN before making payments as i assume their systems would give me/them the information. I find out that my account was in total R499, at the time I called I was given an amount of R339 but I decided to pay them R400 instead thinking i am in credit... clearly not.

NOW PLEASE TELL ME WHY SHOULD I GET SUSPENDED OR HAVE MY SERVICES CUT, THAT I PAID FOR!!! WHEN I HAD NO IDEA OF THE AMOUNT DUE, THE STATEMENTS YOU SEND ME VIA POST CONTRIDICTS THE AMOUNTS GIVEN TO ME WHEN I PHONE YOU PEOPLE. I LIKE TO HAVE CONTROL OF ALL MY ACCOUNTS AND PAYMENTS AND I WILL NOT BE BULLIED INTO CHANGING THAT!!!
