RICA wasn't done, now I am suffering

My husband took out a contract for me for a blackberry BOLD. I got the contract and was advised the seven day rule with new contracts etc by the third day i called into MTN to tell them I had been given a telephone number that belonged to someone else. They asked me if i knew if was a business telephone number, i said I don't know I've only had this number for three days. (what difference would it have made if it was) they told me that perhaps it was the last of the calls, to wait it out. second and third time I called in they said I would have to get an affidavit to prove this number no longer belonged to this person and give it to all the banks he banks with so they will change the number. I CAN STAND ON MY HEAD WHISTLE THROUGH MY... the banks will NOT change personal details on another person's profile!!! (not smart on MTN's part) This person who had this number has gone bankrupt and now I am getting all his death threats via sms and phone calls from banks and credit providers looking for payments. These calls and sms's are 10-20p/day. WHAT is MTN going to do for me?? It's harassment and MTN could help by changing my number as requested in the first place.
