I have a contract with MTN for my cell phone. Dealing with MTN was always troublesome, when calling them one gets the voice response with long selection menus, and when finally an option to speak to consultant comes up the call is cut off. This time however I have a real problem. The building where I work and surrounding areas has almost no MTN coverage. To make calls I have to go out into the road. Due to the lack of/bad coverage I am unable to use my cell phone during working hours. I have reported the problem at least 5 times, every time I am allocated a new number and nothing is done, nor do I get any follow up from MTN. Also each time they seem to get the information muddled up and claim that I reported no coverage at my home address, this is despite 2 emails in which I specified precisely where the problem occurs. People who have a Vodacom or other providers do not experience any problems. I feel that I should be able to terminate my contract without having to pay penalties, as MTN is not providing me with service. When I called the contracts department they refused to listen, then gave me a number of their manager. It rings and nobody ever answers. Please assist.
