Bought a GPS - external online 1st Feb 2013, price was more than R1000, store offered free delivery on above R1000.
Delivery was quoted as 2-3 days. Online website advertises the store as an South African store, price given in Rand. Yesterday - 14th Feb (2 weeks later) I got an email from DHL, turns out the item was sent from the UK, and I have to pay R432-60 customs and, duties and handling fees. the site gives the impression - in a large banner at the top of the site - that it is a South African site, nowhere does it say that they will import and buyer is responsible. they are- as far as I am concerned, - misrepresenting by omission. In the T&C's they do say - with no reference to the fact that they will be importing, and that they are in fact NOT South African - that the buyer must make him/herself aware of taxes and duties. Surely free shipping means getting the item to the buyer free and for gratis?
My advise - STAY AWAY - they deceive by omission
