Orange South Africa
Customs and duties

I ordered a JAMBOX docking station from Orange online store on 02-01-2013. Orange ref 3121-5F1A-701D. I was quoted R2925.34 VAT of R409.55 making a Total of R3334.89. I was given free shipping on any order over R1000.00 so my total invoice was R3334.89. I paid this by EFT and the item was shipped the next day. Now with a website address of [URL Removed] and all items quoted in rands I presumed the item to be coming from South Africa because the site said they had 5 in stock.

I then queried with DHL where my parcel, waybill no 8030307773 was and they sent me an e-mail with an invoice for R818.90 for custom, VAT and disbursements.

I then contacted Francesco at Orange on 021 8311954 to sort the matter out. After 3 phone calls to him I am no closer to getting to the bottom of this. He tells me I must just wait for his reply. Meanwhile DHL informed me that the item will be sent back after 7 days if payment is not made..

Now I, m basically over a barrel. If I don't pay DHL the item will be returned to the UK and I will lose my R3334.89. I cannot see Orange returning my money. When I phoned to complain their attitude was not very inspiring. I was quoted one price & charged another.
