I noticed my airtime reducing on a daily basis without using my mobile. I called MTN and they notified me that I have a "content charge" from Opera Telecoms for some so called subscription. I emailed OT (since nobody ever answers when you call) on 9 Jan with the enquiry and also insisted that all charges be reversed. I had to follow up several times before they cancelled the so called subscription on 21 Jan. I then had to continuously follow up about the charges being reversed upon which they sent me a report detailing how I so calledly subscribed to "Wurup". I've never even heard of that before. They indicate that it was a double opt in process so I was fully aware of what I was doing. If that is the case, I would remember subscribing to this so called Wurup. Apparently they even have a welcome page detailing the cost of this subscription. They charge R7 a day irrespective of whether you download anything. Day light in my opinion, as their report is not sufficient evidence in my view, of me subscribing to this service. I don't even understand how MTN agrees to allow such 3rd parties to charge us through them. I notice many of you have been through this aswell.
