CONTRACT BREAK

My father signed a contract at MTN on the 15th of October 2012 for 2xSamsung S2's. In the contract and on the system it states that the first debit order will go off on the 15th of November 2012.. At the end of December 2012 I received an sms stating that the service has been suspended because there were an amount of R565.72 outstanding.
We phoned MTN and their reason was that the debit order agreement didn't reach the bank in time during November. But they had a month to send it and authorise it. But since the 15th of December 2012 the debit order went off.
We had a telephonic agreement with the service provider that the next debit order should go off doubled on the 15th of January 2013. This didn't happen. Now the debit order goes off, but they don't want to switch the service of the phones back on again. And there were no prior notice of the situation to state that the debit order didn't go off.
What makes matters even worse is that I filed a complaint on the MTN website and no-one reported back. I phoned MTN in Potch and each time they say they are too busy to help and will phone me back and they didn't. Please sort this situation out or legal steps will be taken.
