I saw MWEB's dropped prices and decided that I was going to go over to them, seeing that they are the cheapest at the moment and that they are giving away a router with new sign ups. They are charging R339 for a 2 meg line while the rest are still at like R400.
I contacted them in the middle of Jan to find out about this and was pleasantly surprised at the package so I decided to cancel my line with Afrihost. They said they will call me on the 31st to confirm migration which never even happened. I called them to tell them that I am going to sign up with them and spoke to one of their sales guys. He asked me what kind of data usage I had, afterwhich I told him about a 100 gig a month. He then started to warn me that they have a 70 gig (acceptable usage policy) limit on the amount of data that can be used before they reduce your line to a dial up! 56k!!! How the can you advertise UNCAPPED when you tell your clients that you may only use 70 gig or we will cut your line down to a primitive dial up???
I understand throttling because of, but 56k? Afrihost only suppresses your downloads. Browsing still stays the same! You need to review MWEB!
