My Contract With MTN Expired On 30/12/2013. When Requesting Cancellation Of This Contract I Stated That I Did Not Want The Number Changed To A "Pre-Paid" (BIG MISTAKE Due To A Mis-Understanding On My Part).
On The 20/01/2014 I Contacted MTN And Requested That They Re-Instate The Mobile Number As A Pre-Paid.
I Was Advised That This Could Be Done And Would Cost R100.00 And Take 7 Working Days.
I Assume The R100.00 Charge For This Service Is Because They Can, Seen As They Do Not Complete The Process In The Agreed 7 Working Days. Why 7 Days Is Required I Dont Understand. To Re-Activate A Number Is Computerised Not Physically On Site (I Got Better Service From TELKOM 24x Hours When Requesting A Physical ADSL Line)
It Is Now 7 Working Days And The Only Response From MTN After 5 Calls (And Counting) Is They Dont Know Why It Has Not Happened And They Dont Know When It Will Happen!! (Great Service!! It Would Appear They Simply Hide Behind A Call Centre).
