So I decided to switch 2 numbers from another telecoms network to Telkom Mobile. What a nightmare its been.
First all not everyone is not on the same page as far as their products are concerned. I was advised I cannot port my number to the SIM SONKE plan by the admin of their Twitter account & the Main Str Branch. However their T&C's state it is possible. So eventually the porting took place, (requested port date 25th Oct, actually port date 30th Oct) that's 5 days of waiting.
So on the 30th both numbers were deregistered from my old network but 3 days later Im still waiting for the port to be completed into the Telkom Mobile network. They advise a turn around time of 72 hours. Who can be without the use of a mobile for 72hrs Telkom Mobile???
So You call the call centre & all they say is they "working on it" "pushing through the orders" 3 days? I have ported with other networks before & that is a few hours max. Telkom Mobile 3 days and counting...
DO NOT PORT YOUR NUMBER INTO TELKOM MOBILE.
