Very bad turnaround time on contract approval

I am an existing customer with MTN, I applied for a new data contract which includes a Sony Xperia Tablet Z.
It has since been more than a month, and still the application has not been finalized. The initial reason it was rejected is because of an alert which I requested TransUnion to add to my name as someone took out a contract with Vodacom using my identity. I got the alert removed from my name and then reapplied more than a month ago, but still there is no progress being made. I provided them with the reference number which TransUnion gave me for my request. My complaint is not about the people working at the shop where I applied for the contract (they are trying their best), but rather the process higher up the chain as no one seems to bother to follow up. Surely it can't be so difficult to sort out, given they have a TransUnion reference number they can use to follow up. I am at the point where I would rather go and apply for a contract somewhere else, cause I don't think this is worth the pain.
