Why is Vodacom giving me less data than before?!

Today I upgraded my contract over the phone with Vodacom to a smart medium package from an iPhone talk 120s package. Not only was I not able to keep my current talk 120s contract but now I am paying more for the contract AND am getting almost half the data bundle I was originally getting. From 500megs down to 300megs. For some reason they give you more free minutes that you will never use, 300 minutes to be exact and 300 SMS's! I probably send 10 sms's a month and that's being generous. I use either mostly what'sapp or iMessage which use data. As someone who has been very loyal to Vodacom I would like to keep my current data plan of 500megs, this seems fair to me. If this is not possible then I would like to cancel my upgrade which is still in progress and cancel my contract when it expires in December. I think it's fair to shop around with other networks for a better deal.
