Huge cost to repair 2 month old Black Berry

I upgraded my handset on 8 December 2012. I got a Black Berry 9790. On 20.02.13 I pressed the unlock button on my phone to unlock it, the whole button broke of as I pressed. I took the phone in to Brooklyn on 21.02.13 for assesment. They advised me the last week of February 2013 that there is physical damage and the phone fell and that is why the button broke off. I asked them proof of the pysical damage, and they send me a piture of the broken button. They are charging me R1800.00 to repair this. I think it is unacceptable to pay that on a phone that is just over 2 months old and still on contract. I still have the monthly bill to pay, plus then this to repair. This is madness.
