Vodacom owned number still on Nashua Mobile system

One of of my Vodacom contract numbers is a number that used to belong to Nashua Mobile (NM) under someone else's name is receiving weekly sms's about an account in arrears. This, despite the fact that the number was successfully PORTED to Vodacom more than 3 years ago. I've called NM multiple times to sort this out, all to no avail. First I was told they can see the number has been ported and it is mistakenly still on NM's system as an inactive number. I was advised this would be rectified. Two weeks later the sms's are still coming through. I called again (twice) and was told the number is still active on NM's system and NO ONE could say or do anything to help me rectify that which is a mistake on NM's side. These sms's are highly annoying and I want this to stop as the number does NOT belong to NM since 3 years ago. This is clearly an error on NM side and I don't see why I have to be running around chasing Vodacom (this was the "best advice" the person I spoke to yesterday could give) or the previous account holder at NM ("advice" from person I spoke to today), to try and rectify this. Why is Nashua Mobile making their errors and their problems my issue??? NM should fix this!
