I am desperately trying to cancel my MTN data contract - 0834079600. The contract has finished its 24 months and I want to cancel it. I have been pushed from pillar to post by MTN. I sent 3 emails on 04 December 2013, 13 January 2014 to 3 different email addresses (all suggested on bills and the MTN website) with not a single reply from MTN. I phoned the customer care number 808 and was transferred to the "cancellations department" with absolutely no answer. I finally phoned (and this was the last straw) 808 today again, I was transferred to the "cancellations department" again and I held on 34 minutes before the call was cut off! The consultant on 808 also informed me that there was no direct number for the "cancellations department" - I had to call 808 and then they would transfer me..
Searching MTN's own website which states that to cancel a contract I must: "Call 083 705 7171 or email [Email Removed] To cancel your contract, you need to give the MTN Service Provider 30 days' notice."
Well this cell number goes to a fax line and I have sent an email to the address supplied with NO reply.
I am at my wits end. Can you please help.
