I had a prepaid contract with Virgin Mobile, which I wanted to 'cancel' in June 2013.
The first snag was that I wasn't able to cancel my contract at any of the Virgin Mobile outlets, which is an anomaly in itself. I then called the 'Customer Care' number, as I was told this was the only way one can cancel a contract. When I finally got through to the Cancellations department, I proceeded to 'cancel' my contract and was informed that the contract would get converted to a 'Month-to-month' contract, which I also wanted cancelled immediately.
They informed me that I would need to pay for 2 months after the month in which I cancelled the contract (i.e. last payment in August), which I was fine with.
On 1 December 2013, to my great displeasure, I received a notification informing me that I had just made a debit payment to VMSA - which I had apparently made for the preceding 3 months too without noticing.
I again contacted the Cancellations department. After being on hold for a solid 8 minutes, one of the 'Champs' picked up the call - seemingly without realising he/she had done so, as all that could be heard was background office convo. I hung up after waiting a few minutes..
