I got the phone in February 2013.
Everything was fine until October 2013 when the phone started rebooting. At first it was once a day. From November 2013 it got worse. The message 'Battery drained. Handheld is shutting down' was displayed, Although the battery was still 60%. When connected to the charger the battery showed 60% power again. I took it to Caledon MTN on 4/12/2013. The battery was replaced and the software reloaded. Got it back on 18/12/2013. The phone was exactly as before!
On 8/1/2014 I took it back to Caledon MTN. It was returned on 15/1/2014 with the message that the battery was 100% and that there is no problem. I presume the phone was sent to HVRC Milnerton since they took a photo with the phone.
In the mean time I contacted MTN and BlackBerry Support Centre on Facebook. MTN suggested that I take the phone to my nearest supplier, which I did. BlackBerry suggested that MTN should replace the phone if it is still guaranteed. I have a 24 month guarantee.
If the battery is 100%, why is the phone still shutting down? I feel that MTN must replace the phone if their technicians cannot repair it. Software reload is not the answer.
PLEASE HELP!
