NO ONE KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON?

Hi have booked a blackberry in at the mentioned shop on the 2nd of Jan, due to the phone not booting up. We tried other blackberry's of the same model to cancel out a faulty battery in the shop and at home before we took the phone in. I was told its a software update that is to be done, and phone will be ready in 24 hrs. the next day I called the phone was not ready, and they said the refuse to do a software upgrade if i don't replace the battery. I then said just replace the battery so I can get the phone. I called the day thereafter that was now 48 hrs, the phone not ready and the manager told me that the phone will be ready by the following Friday, to whom I then said this is ridiculous and SHE THE VODACOM MANAGER slammed the phone down in my ear. I left it and called again on the Friday, when the phone was due ready, and no one could tell me anything. I called now again today, and no one knows anything! they are still waiting for a battery, hence the shop hangs full of batteries if that is the so called problem? So what is actually wrong with the phone? We cancelled out the faulty battery as the phone does the same with all batteries? Cause " I don't know mam" is not a answe
