I entered into a Virgin Mobile cell contract on 29 June 2010. After having had the contract for only a year, I attempted to cancel it. After 6 months of consultation with Virgin Mobile (visits and phone calls), the contract was eventually closed by one, Noah Makholwa or so I thaught. Fast track 2 years down the line and I get a scathing SMS from Barrett & Associates. Who informed me that I had an outstanding balance on my Virgin Mobile contract, despite having had no further correspondence with Virgin Mobile since closing my account.
Both Virgin Mobile and Barrett & Associates have previously been "Hello Peter-ed" for a similar matters.
The amount I owed according to Virgin Mobile was a mere R198.00. It appears that my account was sold to
Barrett & Associates and now my outstanding amount is R220.57. They have taken it upon themselves to add a R22.57 service fee. I encourage anyone reading this to avoid any further dealings with either of the aforementioned companies.
