Upgrade - Bad Service

I called into the Upgrades department and spoke to a few different people at first, then got through to Thato he advised me that he will call me back as he system was off line and once he is back he will call me back, he did after a few minutes he then advised me that since I am upgrading before 12pm on Wednesday 15th January 2014 I will receive my phone the next day, which we end the call at 10.50am and I got SMS with a order number (Ref no# : U586422) shortly there after.
I expected the device the next day as I was told and as I was on leave, I was home waiting the whole day for the call but nothing today I had to call into Vodacom to find out the what is happening as I am at work I called in and they advised that the phone is only out for delivery today.
I just asked the lady Sitlhe in upgrades to rather cancel it and I will stay on my contract that I am currently on and when I have time again I will try to upgrade as I thought that it would have been easier than going to the shop and doing it.
I never even got a call to say there is a delay or I will receive the device the today.
