Contract upgraded without my knowledge

One of my contracts are due for an upgrade. I decided to go and upgrade on the 30th of December 2013, but was told by the consultant at Vodashop The Grove that I had already upgraded. I told her I had not and also did not receive a new handset either and she then told me to go to Vodacom in Menlyn as they would be able to help me. Menlyn being a nightmare to go to especially with a baby in a pram, I decided to phone 111 (customer care). I logged a case and was told accounts department would contact me within 48 hours. I phoned again on the 2nd of January and was told that my case could take up to two weeks as they had to investigate first. I told the lady that there was a deal in the Vodacom leaflet that expired on the 6th of January that I wanted to upgrade to, but was just told I would not be able to. I phoned customer care again on the 14th of January and the lady that helped me escalated my case. I still have not had any response or correspondence since then. How can I have been upgraded without my knowledge and now it seems to be my problem as I have even been billed for the upgrade for the past few months and I am now supposed to sit and wait till someone eventually helps me?
