I received a text message on 20 December to inform me that I have exceeded my credit limit of R6000, due to roaming charges. Never before has my billing been that high, even though I travel through Namibia twice per month. Credit was raised to R7000. 6 January service suspended again - same story; increase limit, reported to Supervisor, who has no name.
Billing received 12 January. R5400 charged to roaming calls/apps/data. I spoke to Thabo at the call centre. Told Thabo my roaming only allows for calls, and all the activities charged to me, happened while I was mid-air, traveling from Windhoek to Johannesburg. Thabo reported it.
Musa Twala sent me a copy/paste e-mail. According to MTN, all correct. I explained the entire scenario to Musa again:
1. If you consider my account history over the past year, I have never had such a high billing, even while I was based in Namibia in 2013.
2. I cannot access any of my applications while I'm roaming; I can only make calls.
3. As the billing indicates, I made these calls, or accessed applications while I was traveling by air, during a flight from Namibia to SA. Please see my ticket attached. I never use flight mode.
MTN must reverse charges.
