I had to cancel my Telkom line and ADSL service at the end of December (due to selling my property).
I called the cancellations department 4 times, by dialing 10210. The first time I called from my mobile phone, thinking it would just take a few minutes. After sitting in the queue for about 20 minutes (very expensive!) I gave up. I then called from a landline at work 3 times - the first 2 times it took OVER AN HOUR before someone picked up the call each time! Incredible. The third time I sat on hold for at least 30 minutes and had to give up due to having an appointment.
I feel that a call waiting time of 1 hour is a totally unacceptable service level and implore the management of the Telkom call center to rectify this urgently.
