TERMINATING OF TELKOM LAND LINE

My wife went to the Telkom office in Tygervalley Centre beginning of November 2013. She spoke to Anneline and requested her to terminate the home Telkom line at the residence of her father (aged 85) due to the fact that he is in the process of selling his house in the retirement centre in Brackenfell. All the relevant documentation requested by Telkom at an earlier visit was handed in. She was told that this will be done on the Telcom system but that Telkom does not supply a reference no and that it will take one month for the service to be cancelled. Beginning of December the line was still working, went back to the Tygervalley office and spoke to the same person (not really helpfull) We were told that nothing else can be done and that the request was entered on the Telkom system. To date the line is still active and the rent is due every month.
