No Connection 24 hours later!

I have bought a sim card to connect my tablet to my original contract on Friday 1 February at 9am. Was told that it will be activated in 24 hours. After many phone calls this morning i'm still not connected! it is now 8pm on february 2. how long can it take to activate a sim! i have send vodacom along letter with all my contact points today! have been at it from 7am today and still no one could help! worst service ever!
