NO answer from reporting SIM

My phone got and when I call 0831808 to suspend the SIM I waited on hold for 1hour 10 min and no one answered. If my sim card was being used I would be charged and MTN wouldn't care that it was. How can the facility to block the SIM be so useless even to cancel a contract that is over it cannot be done in store you have to call the retention center BUT NO ONE EVER ANSWERS. HOW CAN THE MTN STORE not help resolve the issue
