Mtn
MTNs "uncapped" internet or uncapped?

MTN has a shaping policy and that is normal and fine. I exceeded my limit and I was shaped. No problem. That is the deal I signed up for.

What I did not sign up for:
1) MTN call center agents that dont know what they are doing.
2) Being misled by MTN :

This is an MTN press release-
'As from 1 February 2012, users of Uncapped Lite packages will be able to download more, moving from a familiar limit of 128kbps to a whopping 256kbps after the 3GB limit is reached. '

See the wording 'up to'. Clever word usage. This allows them to shape you (limit the speed of you internet) to 1kbps or in my case 20 kbps. This is like having no internet at all. This is paying for something that is not received.

That press release is a sham. MTN uncapped is a sham because when you reach the "fair usage" you are shaped to such an extent that there is no difference between having MTN internet or not having it at all. They trick their consumers into paying for a "service" that is so bad that its the same thing as not providing the service at all.

This is not only shameful but unlawful. MTN should look at Part H of the Consumer Protection Act and section 43 h of act 25 of 2002.

NOT AYOBA!
