Failed to cancel my contract

I phoned Vodacom in Late September or early October in order to give notice not to renew my contract (due to the way they treat their customers). I was informed that as of 1 Feb I would be converted to a pay as you go customer and the contract canceled. Low and behold 1st Feb no sms and they have loaded airtime onto my phone as per the conditions of my now canceled top up contract, it seems as though they have automatically renewed my contract or failed to cancel it as per my request.
