I purchased a mymeg 500 data bundle from Vodacom on 16 December 2013 with the assistance of a customer care consultant.
After ending the call I did a balance check by dialing *111#, which showed a 0Mb balance.
The customer care consultant phoned me back to check on the purchase.
I informed her that the 500mb data bundle is not available yet, both the consultant and her supervisor informed me that there is a 1 to 6 hour activation period.
This is mind blowing as I have been purchasing data bundles for years by dialing *111# and the data were available immediately.
In theory if this is Vodacom's policy, it means that thousands of customers living in the 21st century, that run out of data and purchased data will be off line for 1 to 6 hours.
PS. A similar e-mail send to "[email protected]" bounced back.
