27 month contract???

I am shaking from frustration as I write this review. My wife took out a Virgin Mobile contract on her name more than two years ago. I used the phone as I was still a student and could not pay the bill. After about three months I got a job and wanted to take over the contract. After multiple trips to the Virgin Mobile store in Kolanade, due to them losing documentation, I finally got the contract on my name.

In August this year I phoned Virgin to cancel my contract due to mainly bad service delivery. Also, my brother took out a mobile contract from another services provider exactly the same time I did two years ago, and he was already contacted to renew his contract. I was informed that my contract will end on the 15th of October 2013, already two months later than what it should. I made peace with it as I was going to end my contract in any case.

Today I phoned to cancel my contract. The lady told me that my contract will be canceled on the 13th of October but my last payment will be on 30 November 2013. Another month added to my contract.

I will be stopping my debit order at the end of October and nothing later. My advice is to stay as far away as possible from Virgin Mobile.
