New contract and upgrade on line

I upgraded my 3G contract on line on the 26th of November. I ordered an Acer Iconia W511 tablet. RAM delivered it the next day. I was told by Vodacom that I can return the device within 14 days if I am not satisfied and exchange it for another. I also ordered another Acer Iconia W511 tablet on a new contract which was delivered on the 2nd of December. I phoned Vodacom on the 2nd of December to say that I am not satisfied with the goods and they must arrange for it to be collected. They said they would do so and then the upgrade that I did will be reversed and the new contract cancelled once the items have been collected and then I can upgrade again and get the device that I want. I phoned Vodacom this morning to find out when the goods will be collected and they said they can't tell me. I asked if could not take it to one of the stores to speed things up and she said no because a ticked was already logged. In the meantime I am sitting with two devices that I can't use, I am going on leave next week and can't sit around and wait till they collect the goods and then go through the process again to upgrade and get a new contract. Surely there must be a quicker option.
