Why Does Telkom Advertise if they Cannot Delive

Applied for an Uncapped ADSL line at Westgate at the Telkom Direct shop. Filled in the application on 27/11/2013 and was told i would be contacted, nothing, called 10210 on 29/11/2013 they are currently processing and viewing everything, called 10210 on 3/12/213 and now i was informed Telkom does not have cables in my area and they cannot do the installation, I have to wait until April 2014 and reapply but it is not a definate. Not once did Telkom contact me i had to do the follow ups, WHY DO THEY ADVERTISE IF THEY CANNOT PROVIDE A SERVICE? Now they want to sell me a 3G contract, i have a 3G contract i want a ADSL uncapped line.
This is pathetic service from Telkom they should just close their doors, why spend all the money on advertising. At Westgate when i applied i was explained the instalation will not be a problem but certain credit checks needs to take place. Once the credit checks are completed and i am approved it will be - 14 days before instalation will take place.
No Telkom will not Notify me that there is a problem I the client have to do all the follow ups, i have to reapply in April 2014 but Telkom does not know if cables will be available then. Reference 9038024
