On the 16 Jan 2012 I received my blackberry 9300 (on top-up 150). I was told that it has a 2 year warranty. This month my phone's scroller button has stopped working altogether. I took my phone into CellC Westgate Mall today and they explained to me that it was no longer under warranty. When I got home I called the call centre and they transferred me and I spoke to a Phineus, I explained that the assistant told me that my phone is no longer under warranty and he said this was untrue, that I should go back to the shop and call him from there so he could it explain to them. I went back to the shop and I called in again this time I couldn't get through to Phineus but the lady at the call centre told me that the records indicate that cellc was suppose to book it in, then I handed the phone over to the assistant so that they could explain that to her. She then spoke to the call centre agent and when she came back she said that the phone does have a 2 year warranty but that I would have to pay for the repair. I went to mtn and their policy is to book it in no charge, anytime within the 2 year period. Sterns, Edgars and all the other places said the same thing.
