I am extremely unhappy with the quality of service and product provided by Cell C. It was never brought to my attention that the Blackberry phone only had a one year warranty, even though the contract runs for 2 years. This is the only supplier that provides a one year warranty.

I visited the Mimosa Mall branch to have my phone submitted for repairs. They staff were very unhelpful and unfriendly. I explained that my scroller isn't working and that the phone randomly locks itself and the unlock button does not work. The sales staff rudely informed me that the phone can only be repaired within one year and it will take up to 3 weeks for repair and they don't know if it's worth it for me. I left the phone for repairs and later the day went to rather collect the phone in fear of what service I would get.

The phone worked after a couple of days of being switched off, now it's giving the problem again, one month out of the warranty.

Why will Cell C not repair the phone if it is actually a faulty product that was sold. I want to make a case with the Ombudsman, I feel I was not duly informed and that the repairs service provided is very poor in relation to contract period.
