Vodacom
Push Messages

I was recieving push messages saying that i had been subscribed to different sites that i did not ask to be subscribed to. The message would conclude that i would need to send an sms to "opt out" from recieving the messages. Since i did not ask to subscribe and dont agree that i would have to waste my airtime sending sms's, i did not respond. I complained to Vodacom and was told to just ignore the messages and that there was nothing they could to take it away. When i recieved my bill at the end of the month it was over R2000 in billing charges. When i queried it at Vodacom and got a breakdown of the charges they explained to me that the push messages i had been recieving was billing me for every message hence the massive bill. I explained to them that i would pay for something i didnt wanted nor asked for. They acknowledged that it was thier fault but insisted that i would need to pay the massive bill. My account has since been suspended. I have had no problems prior to this with Vodacom. As a loyal Vodacom customer i was deeply dissapointed that the level of service i recieved.
