Downgrading

I called mtn 808 and I was querying either cancelling my contract or downgrading i get transferred from callcentre to rentions and then I get a quote for a cancellation the lady gives me an amount she then gives me a possible fee for downgrading and asks me to hold on to go back to call centre for more info I hold on for 20 mins and then eventually has to call back for the call centre agent confused as ever to tell me that its not posssible and he can't put me thru to the manager.what type of service is this I have been with mtn for almost 10 years.vodacom offers customers to downgrade a year into their contract for no additional fee.very disappointing service
