Sony Xperia z charging block broken after 4 mnths

I extended my contract with mtn and received my Sony Experia Z after 4 months the phone started struggling to charge and the charging port on phone became loose and eventually broke loose because the charger block on the phone does not indicate which way around the charger should be inserted causing wear and tear. i took it in and the repair centre say this is beyond repair? I haven't had it for 5 months yet and now it is useless. They cannot even sell me a docking station i cannot get one anywhere in SA. If i google the part it costs 4$ for two? And then they tell me if i had insurance i could have got it replaced? Were are my rights if u google this problem it is spoken about by several people all over the world?? This cant be fair customer practice surely i have aright to product quality?? Surely MTN should be able to replace it or cancel my contract that stil has to run for 2 years.
