Arguing regarding refund

I had an uncapped 1MB DSL account with MWEB:
In a nutshell, my MWEB account was unavailable from 7 Oct - 8 Nov.
Since 8 Nov I had access to a 1GB capped account instead of uncapped.

I requested cancellation of my MWEB service and insisted that my service fees from 7 October to date must be refunded as I've been paying for services which were not rendered. Mweb has to my understanding waived the calendar month notice period, which is only reasonable considering it took them 31 days to restore access to my account...

This morning Alzonia called to inform me that MWEB has waived the notice period, but then started attacking me saying that I agreed to a package downgrade she apparently suggested; essentially just ranting at me about my data usage figures - eventually I just stated that I want the full refund for October and November and hung up the phone. How can people like this work in a client facing role?

MWEB has billed me for services that were not rendered.
No matter how you view this, I expect the fees paid since 7 October to be refunded pro-rata.
