My contract came to an end and I cancelled it (ref no: 100559907) as MTN staff advised me that I would not be able to receive a phone unless I did it in person. As I currently reside in Australia and had the contract for my mother-in-law's use, this was no longer feasible.
A month later, a new debit order for R110 is being deducted from my account. When I queried this (a time-consuming and costly exercise when calling internationally) I was told that a contract had been taken out by me and that I had collected the phone! No one knew how to help me, or seemed at all interested in the fact that it was impossible for me to do if I was 9000 km away.
After several further attempts and being cut off numerous times, I eventually spoke to a Danny Botha. He said that he would follow it up (ref no: 101308766). Silence ensued. I followed up with several emails, Danny let me know that he couldn't resolve the issue and that he was passing it on to a supervisor. I am still paying for a phone I never asked for and Danny Botha either no longer works for MTN or is ignoring my emails.
