I upgraded to the Iphone 5 (I'm on contract with MTN in Galleria Mall)
On Friday 8 November 2013 I collected the phone at MTN, my sim-swap only went through on Sunday afternoon (after numerous promises and calls), so I was unable to use the phone for 2 day's. I had 5 days to test the phone and really like it, but I keep on experiencing network issues, the phone keeps on saying "no service" and very disappointed with the battery life.
There is obviously an issue with the phone, so I went to MTN on 15 November (7 days later) to return the phone for a new Iphone 5, as I was not satisfied with the network issues. They refused to swap the phone for a new one as they say I'm past my 7 days... according to them the 7 days warranty expired on the Thursday. Which I think is nonsense! My sim swap was only done on Sunday, so I only had 5 days to test the phone. I also phoned them on Friday morning and Jerry said I must bring the phone in. Now they want to send the phone away for assessment etc. I don't have another phone to use while this phone is getting assessed. The manager and staff was very unhelpful and refused to listen.
It's an expensive phone and I deserve to get a working one.
