Not able to access my data bundle

Having purchased an 8ta prepaid sim card for business and printed business cards etc; with my new number, I then purchased a data bundle. When I tried to access the data bundle despite having checked coverage and I am covered, I was told by the help line that my data bundle does not work as I only have a voice sim??? I did purchase the data bundle under this number. I was then told that I could not transfer the data bundle of R149 to airtime?? Can anyone tell me what is going on here. This is my first experience with 8ta and I must say hasn't been good.
